demiguel.co · NutriPsyc Lab

The mind doesn't work alone.

Some people do deep psychological work and the body still doesn't follow. Fatigue that won't lift. Sleep that doesn't restore. Difficulty holding on to change. Sometimes the missing piece isn't in the head.

NutriPsyc Lab explores what the body needs to better sustain a process of change. Food, rhythms, microbiota, micronutrients: not as magic formulas, but as pieces that may be quietly influencing the picture without anyone looking at them.

This is not a conventional nutrition consult. No diets are designed here. No results are promised. What's offered is rigorous, careful accompaniment, grounded in the pharmacological and nutritional training of the professional who leads the sessions.

Inside demiguel.co

Three services. One perspective.

The process

Counselling

The psychological work. What gets understood, elaborated, changed in the narrative and in relationships.

The signal

Regulation Lab

How the nervous system responds. HRV, activation, vagal tone. What the body says before the words do.

The terrain

NutriPsyc Lab

What the body needs to sustain itself. Food, sleep, microbiota, deficiencies. The ground everything else rests on.

What gets explored

It depends on each person.

There is no fixed protocol. Not everything is reviewed every time. What gets explored depends on what each person brings, what makes sense in their moment, and what could genuinely add something.

01

Food and dietary pattern

Overall quality, rhythm, variety. Not to judge, but to understand what the body receives and what might be missing.

02

Sleep and circadian rhythm

How you sleep, how you recover, how schedules and habits support or disrupt emotional regulation.

03

Microbiota and inflammation

The gut-brain axis. Digestion, low-grade inflammation, dysbiosis. Serotonin is produced in the gut, not the head.

04

Micronutrients and possible support

Omega-3, magnesium, vitamin D, B vitamins, zinc. When indicated, when safe, when it makes sense. Not before.

Who is it for

You're in a psychological or regulation process and the body doesn't always follow: persistent fatigue, disrupted sleep, difficulty sustaining change.

You want to explore the relationship between food, energy, mood and stress from a rigorous, evidence-based perspective.

You want to assess with care whether specific nutritional support makes sense in your context. With clinical judgement and medication review.

Who's behind it

Javier Santo Tomás Riera

Pharmacist · BSc Nutrition & Dietetics

Leads NutriPsyc Lab sessions. His pharmacist training is not a detail: it's why every supplement is checked against medication, medical history and contraindications before being considered. He doesn't work from nutritional trends, but from clinical evidence and safety.

Javier de Miguel Martínez

Founder of demiguel.co · Integrative counsellor · EAM-01452

Brings the psychological context. Connects what happens in counselling and Regulation Lab with what emerges from the nutritional exploration. Doesn't prescribe diets or supplements. Coordinates the overall picture.

What NutriPsyc Lab is not

NutriPsyc Lab is not a medical or psychiatric treatment. It does not replace psychotherapy, medical care or prescribed medication.

We do not design weight-loss diets. We do not offer universal protocols. We do not prescribe supplements as medications.

In cases of eating disorders, complex psychiatric medication, pregnancy or relevant medical conditions, referral or coordination with competent professionals will be arranged.

How it works

Three moments.

01

Listen. What process the person is living, what's happening with their body, energy and mood. No forms. Real conversation.

02

Understand. What factors may be influencing things. What deserves attention. What doesn't. Changes with the highest impact and lowest risk come first.

03

Guide. Concrete changes, referral for bloodwork if needed, careful assessment of support when it makes sense. Or sometimes, the most honest answer: the most important work is already happening.

FAQ

Do I need to be in counselling?

No. NutriPsyc Lab works as a standalone service. No prior requirements.

Will I be prescribed supplements?

Nothing is prescribed. Supplementation is only considered when there's a clear indication, it's safe and it makes sense for that person. Often, the work centres on habits and food.

How is this different from a nutritionist?

A conventional nutrition consult typically works on body composition, sports performance or metabolic conditions. NutriPsyc Lab starts from the emotional process and nervous system to explore what nutrition can contribute to psychological wellbeing.

Can it be combined with Regulation Lab?

Yes. Regulation Lab works with the autonomic signal. NutriPsyc Lab works with the terrain that sustains it. They're complementary.

Are sessions available online?

Yes. Online worldwide, or in-person in Madrid (Ponzano 50, 1C). In Spanish or English.

NutriPsyc Lab is not a medical or psychiatric treatment. It does not replace psychotherapy or prescribed medication. When nutritional support is considered, it's done with medication review, clinical history and safety criteria. Where needed, coordination with relevant professionals is arranged.
